Thursday night, after having been stuffed with turkey and other delicious Thanksgiving dishes, I sat down in my family room to watch a movie with my parents. Finding myself bored with the movie, I ventured into the App Store to find a worthwhile game to play. One of Apple’s advertised app groups of the day was “Stunning Apps”, under which, I found this game. Before downloading, I was already impressed just by looking at the graphics. I usually don’t like to read the reviews before trying it out myself, as I would hate for someone else’s opinion to influence my own before I give it a shot. I paid $2.99 for it on the spot, and without knowing it, ended up buying an HTC Rezound the very next day. My first question when I went to go pick up the Rezound was “Can I get Battleheart on it?” The answer was, of course, yes. Of course, I had to pay the same price over again, but for once, I was perfectly okay with that. It’s just that good.
Battleheart is an RPG style game for both iOS and Android (although I have heard there are some compatibility issues on some devices). Many developers have tried this before, but I think it is safe to say that Mika Mobile were the first to do it right. When the game starts, you are greeted by Lucille, a cleric, who gives you a very short (roughly 1 minute) rundown of how to play the game. From there on out, you are essentially on your own, and I really enjoy this. The game doesn’t try to baby step you into it, you’re essentially thrown to the wolves. While the game starts out relatively easy, this is a great approach to take.
